Whether you're a homeowner maintaining your property or interested in forestry work, proper chainsaw handling is crucial for preventing accidents and ensuring effective operation.
What You'll Learn:
- Parts of the Saw
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Proper Attire and state of mind and body
- Pre-operation safety checks and maintenance
- Safe starting procedures and proper stance
- Basic cutting techniques and kickback prevention
- Proper footing
- Checking for hazards
- Basic maintenance
- Emergency response basics
Workshop Details:
- Cost: FREE
- Experience Level: Beginners welcome
- Age Requirement: 18+ for chainsaw handling, under 18 can attend and listen without hands on participation.
What to Bring:
- Note-taking materials
- Closed-toe boots
- Long pants
- Your chainsaw, if you want to learn how to start it only.
- Weather-appropriate clothing, bring a heavy coat, it will get cold and we will be outside!
Training equipment will be provided.
